3- In my video I successfully used the three key editing aspects learnt in class. Such as the use of match on action was used numerous times such as walking through and out of the door in the common room and the classroom, this helped make the movements feel natural and realistic to the audience. Additionally, the use of the 180 rule, was used and not broken, This helped with the conversation between the student and private investigator, which created tension and suspense such as who is the murder paired with the shot/ reverse shot.
4- The film carried many strengths such as excellent planning, multiple uses of match on action, excellent editing, good audio editing, Engaging Narrative which created enigma codes, Mise en scene such as outfits, Low shot, Shot in locker, Sped up footage, Hidden cuts, Two soundtracks, Shot effect - zoom in.
The first scene begins with student walking up, paired with a close up of her steps which brought the school-atmostphere to life, following scene created a match on action scene making her movements look natural. In the common room, she opens her locker with a camera shot in locker, and a note falling out saying, "Meet me in your classroom" successfully creates enigma codes such as whats going to happen? why is this note here? when walking out a match on action scene is used along with a wipe created of a person walking pass, making the environment look natural building a hidden cut.
When student takes off her headphones the music stops, when the door opens a suspense music/ soundtrack happens to change the tone. There are jump shots of student walking including a mid shot, extreme shot and close ups.
When the door opens, the light turns on and the private investigator appears telling her to come. The scene switches to both the characters and transitions to a 180 rule, helping to bring the scene to life. when the paper is flipped the camera zooms on every tap from the pen, creating a closeup, big closeup and an extreme closeup. Additionally, an over shoulder over student zooming onto the murder creates fear, confusion, and laughter.
A weakness, I came across after editing was an odd jump cut so next time when editing I will make sure I watch my film multiple times to make sure odd jump cuts are not seen.
5- Most difficult part of editing was not using adobe, I tired to use it and struggled so I had to edit on capcut. A few things I have learnt is try to plan beforehand, watch film multiple times before uploading
