Film & TV Language: Mise-en-scene recreation practical task

Costume - Jade is wearing a black cardigan with blue jeans which connotes the idea of an school enviroment.

Cat is wearing a pink and purple hoodie which connotes her personality of being bubbly and playful.

Tori is wearing a brown hoodie to match what is she wearing in the show, victorious.

Andre is wearing a blue tee to convey his casual yet relaxing outfit


Lighting -  The high key lighting and high saturation around the scene conveys the school/ child like surrounding. Along with at the end editing the lighting such as adding a pink hue to the scene.

Actors - we tired to follow their movements such as Jade playing with her bracelets on her hand as walking and Tori closing her locker and grabbing a book such as in the victorious scene.

Makeup - Natural + simple makeup looks was used to match how they looked along with hair colour. Such as Cat with red hair

Props - we created props at home such as the poster Jade holds out  a poster for her live performance and passes to Tori along with the, "make it shine" Locker that Tori has

S - We used the six form common room lockers to match up with the scenes

1     INT. school lockers, 

everyone is gathered together with Andre spaced out between Cat, Tori and Jade

CAT -

(Phone pings, Reads phone, smiling at phone)

"Oh, It's my brother!"


(the others have a face of confusion, while on the other hand jade gasps)

JADE

 - Did he get me the stuff?"


2    CAT - 

(Cat turns around from facing Andre to Jade)

"Yeah, He says he got you the clown costume. The power drill and.. 12 gallons of blood"

(At the end she looks up from her phone to Jade) 


3  JADE - 

"Wow, where'd he find 12 gallons of fake blood?"


4     (Camera faces andre looking confused as jade is is speaking)


5    CAT - 

(Cat looks confused, her eyes slightly pop out as saying confused …)

"You wanted fake blood?" 


6     (Laugh in the background while the other look at her with a slight shock full of confusion) 


7     CAT - 

"I'll go call my brother"


8    ( Camera face girls. Laugh. Everyone looks at Cat walks off in the corner) 


9 (Camera faces Andre as he is speaking)

TORI -

(as talking she goes up to her locker to open it)

 "so, should I ask why you want blood, a drill and a clown suit?"


JADE - 

(faces Tori as speaking)

"It's for a live performance I'm doing"


TORI -

(facing locker as speaking)

 "-Ah!"


ANDRE- 

(Looks at Jade as Speaking)

"What's it about?"


(Tori closes her locker. Tori and Andre face Jade as she is talking)


JADE - 

"A clown and a parachute…. that doesn't open"


TORI -

 "What's it called?....."


JADE - 

(goes through her bag for a poster, Rustling for poster [prop] )



TORI -

 (Grabs the poster off Jade and turns it upside up. Reads the poster as confused)

"Clowns don't bounce."


ANDRE- 

"They don't"


JADE - 

(cuts andre off as shaking head)

"no"


(LAUGHS AND ALL WALK OFF TOGETHER)

4- Me and my group recreated Victorious S2E5 ; PROM WRECKER. We used the common room as the background by using the lockets to recreate the school environment seen in victorious. By using lots of different camera angles, and script made based on the Victorious ep, we made the clips alike to the show, thus our recreation.

Additionally, on the editing I used capcut to edit my clips. I played around with the settings adding a pink hue on my recreation scene to match up with the school enviroment. By copying the laughs and pasting them it drew together the clips filmed.

  BLADE RUNNER From the film poster, 'BLADE RUNNER' suggests the genre of the film is Sci-fi / Action through the use of  mise-en-scene  and  iconography .   One way this is achieved is through the serious  expressions  among the characters such as the guy holding a cocked gun and sweating from his forehead, which communicates a sense of serious and danger in the Film. Additionally, we can tell the male is the  protagonist  because he is contracted with the female in the dark light, holding a cig.  1-  Costume - Jamie is wearing a white tee with dark blue jeans, While the psychologist, a baby blue blouse with jeans also. Lighting - Dark lighting with bright window from the jail room. Actor - Jamie is took up in front of the psychologist to make him look like a bigger yet scary person to the psychologist. While on the other hand, the psychologist is sat down  looking up at Jamie with fear in her eyes as if he is a mental person. Makeup - Simple + plain makeup. Props - green + blue bean bag chairs are seen in the left hand corner, and a black sofa on the right. With a table in the middle where the psychology and Jamie are sitting in.
